Government press release on the Global Radio Management Forum held on September 7, 2022

The Ministry of Science and ICT's Central Radio Management Service (Director Sanghoon Lee) announced that it will hold a [Global Radio Management Forum 2022] on September 6th (Tue) to 7th (Wed) to discuss global radio management issues and seek mutual cooperation.

This year, unlike last year, which was conducted only online, it will be conducted in an online hybrid manner, and 14 officials from overseas radio control agencies, including the head of the Cambodian Telecommunications Regulatory Agency, will participate in Korea (six countries) to discuss radio management technologies and cooperation measures.

The two-day forum featured four sessions of Radio Management Trends, Radio Management Status, Radio Management Latest Technology, and Radio Management Future Technology, led by RAPA Vice Chairman Song Jung-soo and KIEES Chairman Park Sung-wook. ITU Headquarters (Switzerland), Central Radio Management Office, National Radio Research Institute, TTA, KCA, KISDI, NIA, ETRI, and industry* presentations and presentations of radio management institutions ** in five foreign countries.

The first day of the forum will cover international organizations' recent standardization issues, radio management issues, radio auction recall relocation, and other topics such as mobile and satellite radio management, while the second day will introduce future technologies such as anti-drone technologies and Terahertz band radio research trends. In addition, it plans to display the propagation technology of domestic companies* in the field of radio wave management in the exhibition space in the venue, and promote the excellence of domestic propagation technology by introducing product promotional videos and publications on the forum website.

The director of the Central Radio Management Office Sanghoon Lee, said in his opening speech, "As the digital transition to COVID-19 accelerates, the importance of radio waves has become greater than ever, and the role of radio management institutions in each country is becoming important."

 

The Central Radio Management Office plans to continue to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with overseas institutions, activities of international organizations, and supporting the industry's overseas expansion through the annual Global Radio Management Forum.
